Bootcamp Content

Week 1: Python Programming Foundations — Students will learn the fundamentals of programming with Python, including variables, data types, conditional statements, loops, functions, lists, and dictionaries. They’ll develop problem-solving skills through hands-on coding exercises and build their first practical Python project.

Week 2: SQL & Databases — Students will learn how to work with databases and use SQL to find, filter, organize, and analyze data. They’ll practice writing queries using SELECT, WHERE, GROUP BY, aggregations, JOINs, CTEs, and introductory window functions while analyzing a real-world job market dataset.

Week 3: Data Analysis & Machine Learning — Students will learn how to work with real-world datasets using Python and Pandas, clean and explore data, create visualizations, and identify patterns. They’ll then be introduced to machine learning concepts and build their first predictive model using Scikit-learn.

Week 4: Generative AI & Large Language Models — Students will explore how modern generative AI systems work, including LLMs, tokens, context windows, prompting, hallucinations, and AI limitations. They’ll learn effective prompt engineering and use Python and AI APIs to interact with an AI model and build a simple AI assistant.

Week 5: AI Application Development & Capstone Project — Students will bring together the skills they’ve learned throughout the bootcamp to build a practical AI-powered application. They’ll work with Python, APIs, data, and generative AI while learning how AI applications are designed and developed. The week concludes with a capstone project and student presentations.

What I learned about Al and creating stuff like we did in class is AMAZING. I cannot wait to show what I learned to my friends and family. I really love the fact that coding is really simple. Just need to make sure not to make any typos/mistakes, otherwise it won't work. With Al, we can code and create many wonderful things.
